Stamp It Out supports Time To Talk Day

Writer: Stamp it Our County DurhamStamp it Our County Durham

This year, Time To Talk Day (TTTD) took place on Thursday 6 February. In honour of TTTD, Stamp It Out (SIO) worked alongside its partners to encourage important conversations around mental health. Read on to find out more about what we got up to!

In the run up to TTTD, Karen Ray, SIO Partnership Manager, visited Bridge Creative to deliver a wellbeing session. The team at Bridge Creative said: "She led a powerful discussion on breaking the stigma around mental health and shared how the Stamp It Out Partnership is driving change in County Durham.

Our team got fully involved - decorating tote bags, playing board games, and engaging in meaningful conversations. Staff from our Training team, In-Work Support, and Centre Operations all took part with enthusiasm.

This session left a lasting impact, and we’re proud that some of our staff will now become anti-stigma ambassadors, working alongside Karen to spread awareness and acceptance."

Onto TTTD itself, Karen visited a number of our partners and local organisations to encourage important conversations around mental health. She visited Bridge Creative, where they played the Stamp It Out board game and designed their own tote bags.

She also took a trip to Waddington Street Centre, before visiting Healthwatch County Durham for their drop in! At the drop in, Karen enjoyed a cuppa and a chat with the team.

To continue the celebrations, Karen met up with a number of our Anti-Stigma Ambassadors in Durham City Centre, for a 'cuppa' and a chat, to further encourage those important discussions around our mental health and wellbeing.

Over in Horden, our partner, Horden Together, hosted a wellness brunch, followed by a wellbeing walk. The event was attended by a variety of local health and wellbeing services, to provide important information!

Alongside this, it was great to see Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) using our mugs and resources, to encourage important conversations and provide information to their employees for Time To Talk Day. PCP held an event at their base in Newton Aycliffe, the Pioneering Care Centre, for all of their employees to attend.

The Stamp It Out mugs used at this event have a special QR code on them, linking to our website, which provides you with a one-stop shop for information you may need about upcoming campaigns, and where to get support locally.

We would like to say a big thank you to all who got involved on the day, and helped us to create safe spaces for people to come together and talk!
